Course Format
This course includes 6 hours of synchronous instruction over the course of four 1.5 hour sessions. There is also asynchronous work, including weekly readings and a final project.

Cohorts
Participants working towards certification will join with others in a monthly cohort, led by an experienced facilitator. These 1 hour gatherings will provide guided reflection on current ministry as well as time for prayer and support.
Course Description
This course will introduce discipleship pathways and playlists, why they are important, how they can be used in ministry, and the basics of designing them.
Participants will learn about why having a pathway is important for effective ministry. They will explore the various formats and options for playlists and learn about curating and building a playlist. Finally, participants will engage in the process of integrating a pathway or playlist into an established ministry
Instructor: Rev. Kathy Pittenger
Rev. Kathy Pittenger is an ordained deacon and currently serves as the Children's Initiatives Coordinator for the Michigan Conference of the United Methodist Church. Kathy earned a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary and a Bachelor in Arts in Educational Ministries from Malone University. She has served in local churches in both unpaid and paid roles for over 25 years. Kathy has taught MasterClasses for Vibrant Faith and is an instructor for Lifelong Faith where she teaches about Pathways and Playlists. She is passionate about equipping, empowering, and encouraging faith formation leaders.Kathy and her husband, Rich, have two sons, Elijah and Micah. They enjoy spending time in nature, hunting cool rocks around Lake Michigan and Lake Superior, building LEGO, and playing video games. The Pittenger family lives near Lansing, MI.
